Grapefruit: Why?
It is neither the size of a grape nor does it taste like a grape. One can only suppose that the tantalizing alliterative qualities of the term "big-ass bitter orange" were rejected by Webster's due to excessive length.

You can't use the word "orange" in the name of a yellow or pink colored fruit. That would make no sense! They ought to be called Softballfruit.
Is an Orange an orange because it is the color orange?
